All about ShotCodes and why to use them!

ShotCodes make the mobile Internet accessible in two clicks or less. It's mobile commerce at its fastest!


How do I know if I can scan ShotCodes?

First check out if your mobile phone is compatible in our download section. If your phone is compatible, install the software and make sure you have your phone's Internet connection set up properly.

Once the software is installed, start the application and aim it at the ShotCode so that you can see the ShotCode clearly (the black and white blocks are countable) in your viewfinder. A crosshair appears automatically. All that is left to do is click and you are on your way!



How does the fair use policy work?
We've got billions and billions of ShotCodes, but that doesn't mean we'll just give them away without keeping a check on abusive use of them. If our system gets suspicious, your ShotCode creation possibilities will be temporarily blocked and one of our engineers will contact you. If our system's suspicions are ungrounded we'll be able to help you with creating more ShotCodes.


What's the penetration of ShotCode readers in the market?

The ShotCode reader technology is a young technology which at current has a low penetration rate. This is however changing fast. The application is available free to everyone and compatible platforms are continuously released. Our cost-per-click model is developed so that you won't have any costs for users who do not have a compatible device.

Which mobile phones are currently supported?

Your mobile must have a camera and should be able to connect to the Internet. Check our list of supported camera phones and inquire with your provider if you are not sure whether your service plan includes internet usage.

Why is there a switch active - inactive in my ShotCode account?

You are in control of your own ShotCodes. You can put an individual ShotCodes or a group of ShotCodes on active or inactive at any time you want. The switch can for example be used for games with a time limit, promotional campaigns with a time limit etc.

Why should I use ShotCodes?

By making your offline media interactive you enable your customers to instantly act on your offer, instantly view additional information, instantly interact with you... Basically consumers can now act on impulse, all you need to do is give them that chance!

Why does every ShotCode have ShotCode.com printed in it?
This way everyone who is not familiar with ShotCodes can easily understand where to find additional information and download the ShotCode reader software.

How much do ShotCodes cost?

The ShotCode reader software for your mobile phone is free, as is making and changing ShotCodes. Non-commercial use of ShotCode is also free.

If you are a not-for-profit organisation, please contact us and tell us about your plans. We are always interested to help make the world a better place.

There are no hidden tickboxes or settings which you have to activate in order to guarantee your privacy.
