New version! I changed the char-counting rhythm: as long as you're typing the counting will be inactive. That gains a lot of speed especially with more than 250 chars. If you stop typing for half a second, counting will run only once until you type more chars (exactly: until you change length of text).
Please test and report if it's better for writing long messages. For my speed of writing it's better. Only disadvantage now is that you get the real written chars only if you pause typing for 0.5 - 1 second. But it's a good compromise I think.
If you have improvements, bugs or any quite useful ideas, let me know. I want to publish v1.0 until end of the year.
